Thabiso Kunene, a graduate student in Prof. Joel Rosenthal’s research lab (https://sites.udel.edu/rosenthalgroup/) has been awarded a 2018 Advancing Science Conference Grant from the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE). This award will support Thabiso as he travels to NOBCChE’s 45th Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL this September. While at the Annual Meeting Thabiso will deliver a presentation on his PhD research, which is focused on development of new catalysts for the sustainable production of fuels and chemicals from carbon dioxide. In addition to being able to discuss his research findings, Thabiso is excited to take advantage of the many professional development opportunities with the cohort of researchers and faculty from UD's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry that will join him at the NOBCCHE meeting.
