Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Biochemistry and Life Sciences<p>The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in biochemistry and related areas of life sciences. We seek highly creative individuals whose research interests complement those of the department, including, but not limited to, protein complexes and machineries, cellular assemblies and extracellular matrix, redox biology, protein post-translational modifications, DNA and RNA metabolism and interactions, and membrane proteins. <br></p>10
Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Biochemistry <p>​The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in biochemistry. The successful candidate will have a PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, or related fields, and demonstrate excellence in teaching at all levels of biochemistry. We seek highly creative individuals whose research interests complement those of the Department. An emphasis on probing and exploiting chemical principles that engender biological complexity will be an asset.</p>9
Safety and Facilities Coordinator<p>​The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a safety and facilities coordinator. This individual will provide oversight and management of Departmental space for the safe, reliable conduct of chemical research and instruction.</p><p>This position requires a Bachelor’s degree preferably in a chemistry related field and four years related experience.  Applicants should have experience with materials that represent chemical, biological and/or radioactive hazards.  Applicants should have a technical aptitude and basic understanding of building infrastructure, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize and coordinate the activities of people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. </p>8
Sr Laboratory Technician<p>​Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical laboratory duties in support of instructional and/or research programs. The principal emphasis is on preparing solutions, analyses and experiments for General, Biochemical, and Introductory Quantitative Chemistry student laboratories.  Independent judgment, thorough understanding of the theory, and practical understanding of the application of scientific techniques are required.</p>7
Continuing Track Assistant ProfessorThe Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware invites applications for a continuing non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor beginning September 1, 2017. The primary responsibility of this position is general chemistry for STEM majors, with the opportunity to teach honors and courses in other areas depending on the candidate’s experience and expertise. Laboratory Manager Chemistry and BiochemistryThe Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee analytical and physical chemistry teaching laboratories. The Laboratory Manager, along with other support staff under his/her supervision, assists the course instructors of record by designing and implementing laboratory curricula, assembling laboratory manuals, preparing/maintaining materials and equipment used in the laboratories, supervising and mentoring teaching assistants, and ensuring safe practices within the teaching laboratories. 5
Assistant Professor for Organic Chemistry Instruction<p>​The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware invites applications for a continuing non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor.  This appointment will commence September 1, 2017. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.  Primary responsibilities will be in the area of undergraduate organic chemistry instruction with opportunities to teach in other subject areas depending on the candidate’s experience and expertise.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemistry and demonstrate thorough knowledge of current theory and practice in the field of organic chemistry. Experience in contemporary evidence-based pedagogical methods preferred.</p>3
Tenure Track Assistant Professor- Chemistry & Biochemistry<p>The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor.  The successful candidate will have a PhD in chemistry, chemical physics, or related fields, and demonstrate excellence in teaching at all levels of physical or analytical chemistry.  We seek creative candidates in the area of imaging/microscopy/tomography with the drive to become leaders in their fields, who will pursue a vibrant, highly visible, externally funded research program involving development of novel methodology/instrumentation and who will develop applications of their research to study important problems in biological/chemical imaging of biomolecular systems.  Examples of research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cryoelectron microscopy (cryo-EM) and cryoelectron tomography (cryo-ET), micro-electron diffraction (micro-ED), single molecule imaging, super-resolution microscopy, mass spectrometry imaging, and spectroscopic imaging.  Outstanding candidates with research programs in the broader areas of physical/analytical/biophysical chemistry will be considered as well.</p>2
